This content strategy helped me gain 400k+ followers,
100 million+ views and multiple 5 figures...
but my 'overnight success' took me a decade to achieve (yours doesn't have to though!)
I failed for 10 years as a content creator...
I tried making food content, parodies, entrepreneur videos, personal growth videos, and I even started a Minecraft gaming channel...
But I still wasn't getting the traction I wanted. I called it quits many times.
Then TikTok came along, and in 2020 I started posting a daily rollerblading series on TikTok just for fun.
"365 days of Rollerblading" I called it.
It slowly started growing...
After a few months of daily posting, I finally hit my first 1 million view video!
9 months of daily posts later... I'd grown my account to 32.5k followers, gained millions of views, was using my influence to make a positive impact in my niche and was getting recognised in public.
Then I started a new TikTok channel documenting my homesteading journey.
I took what I learnt from 185 days of posting consistently about rollerblading.
But I didn't get 30k in 9 months...
I got it in just 3 weeks!
My first video took off. Within 24 hours I had 10k followers - then in 3 weeks I had 30k again!
I had literally saved 8 months of my life, started building an awesome community and various opportunities coming my way.
I was excited, I thought I'd nailed it!
So I tried replicating my success with freelancing clients but had no luck. Womp womp. Most of my videos I made for them were a flop!
I didn't understand why... 🤔
So I dove head down in research trying to analyse why some of my videos flew and others flopped.
After noticing recurring patterns, it started to click. I realised that each successful video I'd made followed the same formula.
I took what I'd learned to one of my clients and got their permission to test it out (I'll share the strategy in a moment).
The first few videos I made immediately out-performed their previous ones (that they'd out-sourced to an expensive but underperforming agency), and then BOOM 💥
We had our first viral hit.
First it hit a million, then 2, then 5, and it kept climbing until it rested nicely at around 14m views.
Plus they'd gained 107k followers from my videos alone.
It was time for my fourth series, which would become the most successful series I'd done.
I launched a 'pilot episode' using my viral video framework to put the feelers out for a 30 day series I had planned.
It was about testing the Carnivore Diet for 24 hours. The pilot episode quickly gained millions of views, and tens of thousands of followers - eventually slowing down at around 14 million views. This more than validated my next series.
I locked in, and started posting this new series almost daily - documenting my journey healing my health issues with the Carnivore/GAPS Diet in a 'Day 1 of' format.
What happened next kinda blew my mind...
Within a 90 day period I grew my following by over 400k, and gained me tens of millions of views.
Because of the evergreen nature of the series, YouTube popped off a few months after posting - and my highest viewed video rose to a crazy 12 million views... Totalling over 100 million views on this series alone 🤯
I started getting sponsor deals with companies that I loved, adsense from YouTube & Facebook, affiliate income and it led to more opportunities, speaking gigs and side quests totalling multiple five figures! (sponsorship money not shown)
More importantly, I was actually making a big impact by sharing my journey.
Hundreds of people were inspired to take control of their health... all because I cared enough to figure out how to create a viral series to get my content in front of more people.
And after building 4 successful series in 4 different niches, I realised I had gained knowledge and a skillset that could never be taken away from me - even if I lost all of my followers I knew I could get them back.
I did all of this without...

I ignored the advice that many reels content gurus are giving...
I blazed my own trail with what's called a 'Signature Series'.
So, what is a Signature Series?
A series is a simple, repeatable way to package your content so it’s easier to understand, more fun to watch, and keeps your audience coming back for more.
Why do they come back for more? We are conditioned to enjoy the 'TV show format' and they wanna find out what happens next!
Think of it like your own mini show...
It's a format that that people can binge, follow, and remember you for.
It's easier to say: "Have you seen that guy that recreates food from the movies, but gluten free?" than... "Hey have you seen that gluten free guy on Instagram?"
Instead of racking your brain to think of one-off bangers for your Reels or TikToks, a series gives you a framework to never run out of ideas and a structure for your content to flow.
It's rinsable, repeatable, builds loyal fans and customers and did I mention that you'll never run out of content ideas? (you're welcome social media managers).
Just like a TV show has episodes, your content series has multiple parts that connect together. Each video adds a new piece to the lore or story and the more people watch, the more invested they become.
Ever wonder why YouTubers and Streamers have the biggest fans? It's because the more time someone spends with you, the more they know, like and trust you - which is especially important in this AI slop era.
There are many 'Series Types', here are a few examples you've probably seen (and couldn't stop watching!):
- "$1 or Mystery Gift"
- "Welcome to Breakfasts Around The World"
- "Will It Sourdough?"
- "One Bite Pizza Review"
- "Day 1 of Trying Some Weird Diet To Heal Some Weird Disease"
All of these are series formats, simple concepts turned into ongoing shows.
The beauty of it, is people start recognizing your format, your face, or your phrasing... even before they know your name.
It's the best way to make a memorable brand.
Why do series work so well?
Because they're good for people and they're also good for the algorithm!
When users binge your videos, they stay on the app longer.
The longer they stay on the app, the more ads Zuckerborg or TikTok can show you.
The more satisfied your audience are with your content, the more the platforms will reward you by pushing your content.
It's a crazy win-win-win fly-wheel:
-
Your audience gets entertained/educated.
-
The algorithm gets fed and Zuck gets his ZuckBucks.
-
And you build momentum, not burnout.
So yeah, a series can be a short-cut to success, and it's why I'm so bullish on them, and why I want to help as many businesses, creators and social media people make them.
Say see ya later to the 300 views jail 👋
Who does a series work for?

Do you need to go viral to succeed?
One of my mottos is 'Why spend time on a 1000 view video when you can spend time on a 10k, 100k or 1m view video?" which in part led me to my viral success.
And part of my strategies gear you towards creating series that can go viral. Some people do it on their first series, and others it takes a few goes.
However the truth is you absolutely don't need to go viral to create a profitable and successful series.
In fact one of my earliest students was only getting a few hundred to thousand views on her videos (this is before she even finished the first modules - she was just so keen!), but yielded her more success than her previous posting strategies.
Just check out this case study from Kass...
She profited from her series, even without going viral!
Kass was testing out different types of series and started cracking affiliate sales and high ticket sales. All on videos that were getting a few thousand views max... and this was before she finished going through the first few modules😂
